So.African Simon, Subjects Nganga Mallendi to the Erronous Criteria of A NewAge Plastic Techno Shaman.

Simon, A So.African, Nganga wanna-be, has to gaul to Subject Multi- Generational Nganga Mallendi to NewAge Concepts of Neo-Shamanism.

Spiritual Genocide; Simon's Super Plastic Shaman Criteria is an Assault on the Prior Art of Nganga Mallendi. Simon & the likes are going for the throats of Traditional Practitioners to eliminate the competition. Simon & other Spiritual Neo-Colonists are patently damning Indigenous knowledge into Oblivion.

Will Nganga Mallendi's great great grandchildren be presecuted by the WTO for patent infrigement for using Iboga? or perhaps be forced to use Sythetic derivitives at a high cost?

Contrary to SyntheticSimon's BS.....Iboga is safer than ibogaine and being treated in Gabon by an Nganga would be first on my list just because of the history of Pentagon funded 'Skunk Projects' aimed at data collection, & duping unwitting genea pigs into submitting to experimentation & unnessessary screening. Medical Apartheid.

Go for treatment from SyntheticSimon, & he won't even give you a little soup after, what a Schlump!

Simon could learn alot from Mallendi. Mallendi fed us after Iboga.

  • Hooo boy! Issues! I will leave it at that because your claims are ludicrous. Defending my self would be a waste of time.
    • Simon, Say you jumped to conclusions about Nganga Mallendi. Consider getting Initiated by him. If you are serious about healing people through Iboga, getting a proper initiation is the responsible thing to do. Everyone makes mistakes, but tell me why you to cling to & defend them so. Read Mallendi's recently released book, 'Iboga; The Visionary Root of African Shamanism'

      MALLENDI;
"The root has the virtue of psychological analysis. It works on three times: present, past, and future...And what I found magical in working with people is that I've seen some who arrived in a really bad way, and after two days work, they left better, smiling radiantly with much hope and courage". (Page 107, Mallendi & Paicheler, A., 'Iboga; The Visionary Root of African Shamanism')."

"I've cared for several people who were addicted to heroin. Iboga allowed them to get rid of their addiction. But after the physical detoxification, there is additional psychological detoxification. And that is much longer work. so you follow the person, and see them several times in order to guide them. Western treatments using Ibogaine go no further than the physical detoxification. Iboga and the accompaniment that goes along with it lead to a psychological detoxification that allows the dependent person to understand certain elements of his life that have led him to drug use. We work on the causes (Page 109, Mallendi & Paicheler, A., 'Iboga; The Visionary Root of African Shamanism')."
      • Thanks I may give it a read; although I am more affiliated and interested in another branch of Bwiti. I think that conclusions are being jumped to here and all i implied was that screeining could be improved which is just a general statment but I appreciate you post as it is a little more constructive. Hang on a bit; I am going to be including some information about my self and my introduction to iboga and Bwiti soon which I think will explain more about where I am coming from. I dont mind criticism if it is constructive. I dont claim to know everything and also do what hmans do which is make mistakes occasionally but my intentions are sound as far as I am concerned and thats all that matters but thanks I appreciate your post.
        • PS I also agree with what he says about the use of iboga post treatment which is what I have been doing and the use of tune up and booster doses has been well covered. One thing that I will just bring up is that most Ngangas dont know about addiction or what a virus is for that matter even though iboga or ibogaine is of use for the treatment of both addiction and hepatitis. I dont want to be taken out of context again or misunderstood but just hang on a bit and wait for the change in the web site so that (possibly) I can be understood. Like for instance why would I want to slate traditional healers when one of the objectives is to protect the pygmies and the forest they come from as well as their traditional heritage? I just think that both schools can learn from eachother but it has been difficult with Bwiti because it is a secret society where information is not shared with non-initiates and has an oral tradition.
          • Simon thank you for saying that "both schools can learn from eachother". I look forward to viewing your website.

            Caridad del Cobre, Oshun.
            • Just to give you an idea; when I was doing what you could call conventional ibogaine treatments solely aimed at helping people with opiate addiction I felt there was some thing missing. Then I got a phone call from an Nganga out of the blue and he invited me to a Bwiti. I was so moved by this experience that it changed my whole perspective and that of treatment. I also got more involved and we still learn from each other. From the western perspective there is little know about the traditional or spiritual use if iboga which I now use with ibogaine; I still believe its safer to detox from opiates with ibogaine then to follow up with iboga as part of the therapeutic and spiritual part of the treatment. And people working the traditional side learn more about the scientific discoveries regarding the medical application of iboga or its extracts. To me is a bit like discussing religion what works for one does not work for another so by combining the two you get a better perspective of what will work for the individual. Some one going through heroin withdrawal is going to find the traditional approach very difficult but once they are stronger there is a lot that can be gained from the traditional approach; but you can’t please everyone. I have been accused of witchcraft by Christians and only doing treatments for the money so you just got to brush it off and carry on. It’s all part of an experience which with any luck at the end of the day does some good and helps people reach more of what they are capable of; being better people.
              • Thats funny :-]
I joined this list because the ibogaine list was getting to crazy for me with all the negative comments etc-nothing contstuctive just plain bull shit....
                I see its everywhere!
I personaly dont know much about Simon but one thing any inteligent person should discern from his posts is that he has great passion about bwiti/iboga. And because of that people might mis judge his posts/comments. I have never encountered an ego-based post where he makes him self look like he has all the knowledge/experience etc. He is just begening to learn about the beauty and magic of iboga/bwiti and I personaly think he is doing a good job...
Sraight from the heart!!--why not :-]....all this shouldnt be so serious...leta laugh more and enjoy the moment :-]
                • I appreciate your post Matt.

                  > he has great passion about bwiti/iboga

Yes, absolutely agreed. Some people sometimes take their passion a wee bit too far and seem to think that they've got all the answers... that they're the authority on all things related to spirit. I've seen this phenomenon all too often. It's strange, but even a "full" initiate seems capable of reasoning from an ego-centric standpoint. Spritual egotism??? People can get very personal when it comes to this subject matter.

A bit of compassion and willingness to communicate eye to eye carries a long way.

Much love and understanding to all, always.

BTW, welcome Matt. We try to keep this space positive and open, as much as possible. A bit of conflict can't hurt though, so long there is some sort of resolve at the end. We are all growing =]

                  Cheers!
                • Matt, may I show you where the fish does pee? You say you see crazy negative comments everywhere, but hey, my take on it is that this level of disagreement among the Iboga Elites demonstrates that we are not at all a cult. Consider the healthy componant of arguing various points of view.
                  • This is the maximum depth. Additional responses will not be threaded.
Debate is one thing which I do support however its difficult if people dont like your point of view and think they know better unless you can always keep a bit of an open mind and allow that person their opinion; I dont think any one can say they have all the answers certainly not me; there would not be much point in living then. It’s all good though; it would be a bit boring if everyone shared the same opinion but I do find name calling a bit base and of no real use intellectually.
                    • > "The overall effect [of Iboga] is huge & unique to each person,' (page 108, Mallendi, Iboga; The Visionary Root of African Shamanism),"

Yes. I think this can be said to be the case for pretty much all psycho-active substances. It's important to realise that there may be just as many unique responses to let's say Iboga as there are unique personalities. Again, something which can be said about pretty much any substance/compound which helps surface the subconscious. Just my .02 cents.

Your point with regard to cult-ism was spot on.

                      > Debate is one thing which I do support however its difficult if people dont like your point of view and think they know better

Yes indeed. There's a clear distinction between skepticism and cynicism, though many to my surprise experience difficulty recognising such... Personally, I see little value in maintaining a conversation with anyone who's not willing to *periodically* review whatever it is they seem to believe at any given point. After all, change is the only constant -- there is no final truth =]

                      > you can always keep a bit of an open mind and allow that person their opinion

                      Yep.

                      > I dont think any one can say they have all the answers certainly not me; there would not be much point in living then.

                      Here, here!

                      > it would be a bit boring if everyone shared the same opinion

You got that right. Same if we were all to fall for the same exact types (though the damn fashion industry does its damn best to make us all conform to an impossible ideal, LOL!)

                      > but I do find name calling a bit base and of no real use intellectually.

Unless it's consential and deliberately childish for entertainment's sake =]
                      But seriously, agreed!

New Age Plastic Techno Shaman or not, no-one can afford to take themselves too seriously...
                      • Healthy skepticism moves through a life process, where as cynicism stops & decays.

Dimitri, I have a ques. for you. In the spirit of not taking ourselves too seriously is it possible to co-create a "consensual and deliberately childish for entertainment's sake (Dimitri) " folkloric Archetype out of the negative stereotype of the NewAge Plastic Techno Shaman? To not deny it, or kill it, or justify it but display it, incorporate it, display it, flip it & play with it. In a self -critical, self-reflexive, comic tragic clown figure accessable to the public. A WWF archetypal fall guy, How can we domonstrate that we aknowledge faults (& predecessors) past & present? ...and show that we don't take ourselves too seriously?

Plastic shamans (Like Lynn Andrews) caused irreparable harm (cultural) in the Americas. I was working with Pueblo & MicMac when the Leaders called a moratorium on culture & information sharing. All contact was cut off. I lost a lot of friends. I'm game for making fun of myself, but I couldn't make light of the plastic shaman problem.
                        Caridad.

                        • I totally hear ya, Caridad Del Cobre.

Quite eloquently put too... Much appreciated.

NewAge Plastic Techno Shaman sounds terrific. As a matter of fact, this set of words is quite appealing to one's (my) imagination. Could be a new speudo wanna-be super hero. There are many wanna bes out there, claiming to have uncovered THE solution, and the best way to demonstrate to them that we don't take them serious, and that they shouldn't take themselves too serious, is to laugh and remain playful.

I'll leave it at that for now =]

                          Agreed Matt.

                          Respect 2 all.

Paint with wide strokes, for my mind is -also part of- your canvas :)

For some reason, I see bell-bottomed fluo pants involved in this emerging charactre, and not a red clownish nose but one which rotates through all the colours of the rainbow as a question is pondered upon critically... Joker (Batman) style. I also see a staff with which (((pure knowledge))) is uploaded through the cerebral cortex of any unsuspecting "patient" which finds her or himself graced with a gentle quality NewAge Plastic Techno Shaman touch at the base of the neck. Naturally, the NewAge Plastic Techno Shaman is accompanied at all times by a small army of well armed security guards, both for his own safety as well as that of others, and of course also to secure -by force if needed- that all "treatment sessions" fulfill the strict financial requisites outlined in the legal business agreement into which anyone who physically enters a radius of 3.33 metres (the exact distance from his heart to the tip of his alien future tech wonder-ceptre when extended from his right hand) automatically agrees to. After all, the NewAge Plastic Techno Shaman exudes healing powers which extend well beyond this modest radius and fill any space he enters with, for instance, nag champa (as an unmistakable indicator of his healing presence). Thus, a most reasonable financial arrangement... It should be noted that the NewAge Plastic Techno Shaman has been considerate enough to wear a proprietary device on top of his head which projects a most fitting 'circle of light' on the floor around him, clearly indicating if and when anyone elects themselves as a would-be patient of his by entering the "Non-Local Healing Sphere of Light" or NLHSL (all rights reserved - copyright NAPTS Inc 2008). Further more, there is an audible warning system which activates whenever one is about to move into this concentrated healing sphere. As such, it is pretty clear that extensive measures have been taken to avoid any 'accidental' and potentially ill-willed (LOL!) attempts at self healing at the expense of NAPTS Inc. And if that weren't enough, 6 tiny video cameras each covering a field of view of exactly 60 degrees (covering a total of 360 degrees together) and carefully mounted at the base of this proprietary device not only record irrefutable and court recognised proof of whether anyone decides to bind themselves to a NAPTS Inc healing agreement but transmit and stream this data live to the NAPTS Inc Live Healing site (a modest access fee applies). NewAge Plastic Techno Shaman sez: Let me help you help me help you [thumbs up w/massive smiles].

                                        Conciliatory....

Okay, I admit, I had to look that one up (I'm native Dutch see).

-> past participle of conciliare to assemble, unite, win over, from concilium assembly, council

or... to become friendly or agreeable.

You wish to become friendly and agreeable with me? That's excellent! We don't have to agree, but getting friendly, well, what sane woman or man could have any objections to such a terrific proposal? Tonight I shall raise my glass dearest. I shall raise it HIGH and toast to many more friendly laughs together, and should we decide to disagree perpetually, I shall wish that we may agree happily =]

Which one: a quality Belgian ale, sambuca on ice or a mojito with authentic Cuban rum? Or shall we skip the initiary pleasantries and move on to champagne? So long every one's allowed to make a complete ass out of themselves, it's all good 8)

                                        > heh, I dream, it don't matter

I beg to differ. Everything matters :)

"We're going to pretend that you've got some balls and I'm going to hide them [...]"

ROFL!! Eh, I'm not sure if I need to be excited or scared. I kinda don't trust this lady, LOL! That's some seriously funny shit. I shall pass this on to others. My fellow 'ball-bearing' brothers, be warned for the lady who's got a 'special' interest in yer huevos... rumor has it she's got a few ulterior motives up her hiding sleeves =]

Where on earth did you dig this up? Makes for a great sample source.
Got balls? It's 4am... do you know where your balls are?? ROFL!!

                                          >'special' interest in yer huevos...
I admit I have a 'special' interest in yer huevos where it comes to undermining the drug war. I noticed that the black market body parts trade runs along heroine networks. Sounds like a good reason to Legalize, chop'm off at the knees (bad pun).

                                          > few ulterior motives
One ulterior motive came to mind as I checked out of emergency, Sun. morning. It involves generating mass-appeal incentives to end to the drug war. For example, how does the drug war silence those (of us) who suffer violence in the home? Addicts are less likely to get help, & are more likely to die.

Do you have experience in this area? Is there a way to address this issue without infringing on men's rights? (Keeping in mind, of course that physical abuse happens in hetro, & same sex relationships).

Also, addicts (victims/perpetrators) who seek help only receive it on condition that they are clean. Chris, a counselor at Emerge (www.emergedv.com) in Cambridge MA, says that this prerequisite, to be clean, can be down right dangerous for a myriad of reasons (I'll find out more about this).

Addicts & their families (women & children) are turned away from shelters, denied food stamps etc.. Most people who suffer domestic violence desire keeping the family intact. They just want the violence to stop. The system does not respect this need. Emerge counselors seem to be more understanding & open to working with offenders & victims (i hate that term) who are addicts. www.emergedv.com/

I will be contacting Emerge, soon for personal reasons. I intend to mention to counselors your work.

Let me assure you, my 'huevos' have nothing to do with it =]

I try to undermine the drug war of aggression with my mind, by educating myself and by sharing whatever I know wherever I can and wherever such sharing is well received. If applicable, an open and hopefully mutually beneficial exchange is always preferred. Remaining open minded, non judgemental and compassionate is key. Being honest with yourself is paramount. I can spot self deceivers half way around the globe :)

I'm no elitist or intellectual snob. I don't believe in keeping many secrets. Well, maybe a few for good measure, but certainly not any knowledge which can possibly help others. I'm a strong advocate of harm reduction. Special "clubs" and cults and such are not my cup of tea. Neither are self styled guru-wanna-bes, spiritually pretentious westerners, magic potion-X charlatans, any and all questing for recognition and fame based on certain precious exclusive truth, self proclaimed saviors of the masses, granola sprouting half-baked pseudo-self help uttering freeloaders.... ... ... you get what I'm saying =]

Information wants to be free. As does the mind. Every thought is a thought in the mind of the universe.
Know thyself -- open thyself => circle complete.

                                            > I noticed that the black market body parts trade runs along heroine networks.

Seems logical; an easy partnership amongst those with few to no moral restraints, sharing a singular objective...

                                            > mass-appeal incentives to end to the drug war

Would take dismantling the prison economy (yes, ECONOMY) in the States where 60+ % of all convictions are based on drug "offenses." Highest per capita prison population of the world may be found in "the land of the free" indeed. GRINS.

Would take a complete overhaul of the medical industry and big pharma's way of doing business too, not to mention dissolving its political influence. If there is something in this world which is truly evil, it is big pharma (closely followed by the offense industry and big oil). Big pharma is creating the prison pupulation of the future as we speak. Business is good.

                                            > Addicts are less likely to get help, & are more likely to die.

True. Europe in general utilises a more progressive and compassionate approach. Addicts are victims of sorts and require help, not punishment. Punishing the weak for being weak is a fascist mindset. Passing out clean needles to heroin addicts, for one, WORKS, if you're trying to curb the spread of AIDS amongst others. Drug users aren't criminals and shouldn't be treated as such for abusing their own bodies. Of course, drug abuse can lead to crime, but that's another story. Guilty by suspicion is a thing of the past... or is it?

Speaking for western (N/W) Europe, users rarely end up in jail. Only those who move in large quantities. Sentences for identical infractions still represent only a fraction of those which apply in the States, amongst other less progressive places in the world. Drum and Bass DJ/producer Grooverider got nabbed not too long ago somewhere in one of the Arab Emirates for having -accidentally- left a bit of weed sitting in one of his jacket's pockets and got five years jail time for it. WHAAAAT!!?? The real crime is the sentence itself. A man in Oklahoma got life in jail for having a bunch of plants growing in his basement. Siiiiiiiiigh...

                                            > how does the drug war silence those (of us) who suffer violence in the home?

I don't know. I've seen addict hetero couples in which the male was abusive. The woman in a heterosexual relationship is less likely to call the cops or call for any other type of attention when there is a risk of getting busted herself for being an addict... and certainly when children are involved to which she'd risk losing custody to the state. Needless to say, drug abuse and home violence makes for a socially, psychologically, economically and legally complex situation.

                                            > Do you have experience in this area?

Not professionally, officially or otherwise actively, if that is what you mean.

                                            > Is there a way to address this issue without infringing on men's rights?

Yes, for one by making laws less Draconian. Let me help you help me help you. LOL! The system itself creates and perpetuates the problem. The system is also wide open to abuse. What type of results can one expect from a broken system which attempts to fix broken people? Physical abuse is one thing. What about mental/psychological abuse, which imho can cause far more long term damage? What about alcohol infused child abuse? What about the price we all pay due to an unjust system? Where do we begin to tackle such a monumental task? All things considered, at the economic level, if you ask me...

                                            > Also, addicts (victims/perpetrators) who seek help only receive it on condition that they are clean.

Such is the case in the states indeed. Totally preposterous. What total utter backwards nonsense!! Chris is right. a) it promotes dishonest behaviour and undermines such noble concepts as patient-doctor(/or other) confidentiality and b) an addict needs assistance the most when he/she is addicted and on the streets. Yeah, come to me when you've taken care of your problem to talk about how we're going to take care of your problem. Your culprit: privatised health care. Privatised healthcare and education only benefits middle class to upper class demographics (if even!). Certain aspects of society ought to remain socialised. Health and education are -to me- two inalienable rights which are guaranteed best (when considering all practical real world aspects) in socialised form. If everyone indeed gets an equal chance in life and an equal shot at success -even in a free market economy- then these two aspects ought to be considered as given basics. Reality tends to disagree (with the everyone gets an equal shot in life hypothesis).

                                            > Addicts & their families (women & children) are turned away from shelters, denied food stamps etc..

                                            Royally fucked up.

                                            > Most people who suffer domestic violence desire keeping the family intact. They just want the violence to stop.

                                            Right!

                                            > The system does not respect this need.

The system is fuct. It has no soul. It operates without a conscience. It is a corporation, out to make the bottom line. Politics, healthcare, justice, the courts... all are driven by money. The system is incorporated (Americorp). It opposes euthanasia, not on compassionate grounds but to secure its dominion whilst maintaining many paradoxes (maintaining the death sentence)... Every citizen is officially considered "a revenue generating entity." Says so exactly in IRS literature. Ach du lieber August!

Emerge seems like a great organisation!

                                            > I will be contacting Emerge, soon for personal reasons.

Are you experiencing some sort of domestic challenge or something? I hope not... But if you are, best of luck with that!

                                            Another funny clip BTW ;-)

          • "One thing that " Simon brought "up is that most Ngangas dont know about addiction or what a virus is for that matter... (Simon, TribeNet).

Thank you Onesimus & Africa, for the Innoculation Technology. Onesimus, A man from Africa, introduced innocculation to Boston 1706!

Stimulated by a severe epidemic, variolation was first employed in North America in 1721. The practice had been known in Boston since 1706, when Cotton Mather (of Salem witch trial fame) discovered that his slave, Onesimus had been inoculated while still in Africa and that many slaves imported to Boston had also received inoculations.[3] The practice was, at first, widely criticized. However a limited trial showed that 6 deaths occurred out of 244 who were vaccinated (2.5%) while 844 out of 5980 died of natural disease, and the process was widely adopted throughout the colonies.
            • I should have made that a quote as a lot of the information I put out. This was a subject I discussed with an Nganga and this was his reply so its not some thing I am making up as I go along. Accordingly in Gabon according to sources addiction is not a common thing and certainly not street level with reference to narcotics. The point I was making was not to say that these people are ignorant but that we can learn from eachother just as we in the west know little of the traditional and spiritual use of iboga. How do you measure spirituality would be a western scientists point? Whatever I say has some backup by a source that I concider sound they are not necessarily my personal sentiments or some thing which is just opinion unless of course I say it is. There is also generally a point other than my own rantings which is just a bit of jesting.
